Android app development and Google Play publishing

We build Android apps with Flutter and publish them on Google Play. CarrySo's own apps support Android 7.0 and later and are released, updated and monitored by us, so Play Console, Data safety forms and policy updates are routine work for our team.

What an Android project with us includes

  • Product scope, UX flows and Material-based interface design
  • Flutter build tested on physical Android devices
  • Runtime permissions handled for media, notifications and files
  • Firebase integration where needed: Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Firestore
  • Signed release builds and Play Console setup
  • Store listing, screenshots, Data safety form and a hosted privacy policy
  • Staged rollout and post-launch monitoring

Google Play publishing, handled end to end

Getting an app accepted and keeping it listed involves more than uploading a build. Google Play requires an accurate Data safety declaration, a reachable privacy policy, current target API levels and compliance with content and ads policies.

We host privacy policies for our apps on carryso.com and keep them up to date from our admin panel, and we check each app's store listing automatically every night.

Built for real Android devices

Android users are spread across many device classes and connection qualities. Our apps do heavy work, such as photo compression, background removal and video conversion, directly on the device and in background isolates. Features keep working offline and user files never need to be uploaded.

Android app development process

  1. 1. Discovery and scope

We go through who the app is for, the one job it must do well, and what can wait. You get a written scope with the screens, features, integrations and release target.

  2. 2. UX flows and interface design

We map the main user journeys before writing code, then design screens that follow Material guidelines on Android and feel right on each platform.

  3. 3. Build in short iterations

The app is built in Flutter in small increments, so you can install test builds on a real phone early and change direction cheaply.

  4. 4. Testing

Business logic, parsers and data layers get automated unit tests, and release builds are checked on physical devices before they reach users.

  5. 5. Store release

We prepare the store listing, screenshots, privacy policy, Data safety form and release build, then handle review and the staged rollout.

  6. 6. Maintain and improve

After launch we watch crashes, reviews and release age, keep SDKs and target API levels current, and ship improvements.

Evidence: android app development in our own apps

These are CarrySo's own products, published on Google Play under our developer account. Figures are taken from Google Play when this site was built; each card links to the case study.

Frequently asked questions

Do you build native Android apps in Kotlin?

We build Android apps with Flutter, which compiles to native ARM code. When an app needs an Android API that no maintained Flutter package covers, that part is written natively and called through a platform channel.

Can you publish the app under our own Google Play account?

Yes. The app should be published under your developer account so you own the listing. We help with Play Console setup, app signing and the review process.

What does Google Play require before an app goes live?

At minimum: a complete store listing, a content rating questionnaire, a Data safety form, a privacy policy URL, target audience settings, and a release build that meets the current target API level requirement. New personal developer accounts may also need a closed test before production access.
